Although passengers are a large component of the Harbour Air business model, for many of the same reasons, it is also a widely popular option for getting freight shipped quickly, conveniently and inexpensively throughout the coast!

Whether it’s medication to a remote village, time sensitive legal documents or a sick pet, Harbour Air transports millions of pounds of freight every year on all of its scheduled flights as well as using dedicated charter aircraft for larger contractual freight shipments.

With dedicated freight desks at all of the larger terminals and a company-wide invoice tracking system, shipping with Harbour Air is quick, convenient and easily accessible, making the service most popular amongst couriers, legal firms and medical transportation companies.

Terminal-to-Terminal Service

  • Drop off your parcel at one of our locations and our Freight team will send it on the next available flight to the destination terminal of your choice for pick up by the receiver.
  • Cut off time – parcel must be dropped off at least 30 minutes prior to preferred flight departure time.
  • Availability – seven days a week at all Harbour Air locations*
  • All freight shipments are shipped on a space-available, standby basis.

 Terminal-to-Door Service

  • Drop off your parcel at one of our terminals and we will send it on the next available flight and will arrange to have a courier pick your parcel up on the other side and deliver it to the specified address.
  • Cut off time – parcel must be dropped off by 1:00 pm for same day delivery.
  • Availability – Monday to Friday (excluding holidays) in Vancouver (Coal Harbour), South Vancouver (YVR), Victoria and Nanaimo.
  • All freight shipments are shipped on a space-available, standby basis.

 Door-to-Door Service

  • Call our Freight department and we can arrange a courier to pick up the parcel from your home/business to then be flown to the destination of your choice. We will then arrange another courier to pick it up from our terminal when the flight arrives to deliver it to the destination address.
  • Cut off time – Order must be submitted by 1:00 pm for same day delivery
  • Availability – Monday to Friday (excluding holidays) in Vancouver (Coal Harbour), South Vancouver (YVR), Victoria and Nanaimo.
  • All freight shipments are shipped on a space-available, standby basis.

* To set up a shipment via our Maple Bay location, please contact our Freight department in advance by calling 604.233.3501. Our Comox terminal opens one hour prior to all scheduled departures for freight services and freight pick up is available within 90 minutes of all scheduled arrivals.

Parcel Sizes

To ensure secure handling of your freight shipments and to maintain the safety of our crew, parcels must meet both weight and dimensional requirements. The dimensions of your parcel should not exceed those listed in the chart below. Single items weighing between 50 lbs and 125 lbs will only be accepted according to the following requirements: a) there must be adequate staff to lift the item into and out of the aircraft, b) the item meets the dimensional restrictions of the aircraft, and c) there is available weight to accommodate the item on the flight.

For the safety of our crew, single items weighing over 125 lbs will not be accepted. If you are unsure if your shipment meets the size and weight restrictions, please call us at 1.800.665.0212.

Important Information:

  • Harbour Air reserves the right to open a package or parcel(s) at any time to verify the contents.
  • Shippers/couriers are required to be aware of, and disclose, the contents of the package(s) and the destination to which the item(s) are being shipped.
  • Harbour Air does not accept Dangerous Goods for shipment. If you are unsure about an item, please call our freight department at 604.233.3501
  • Harbour Air reserves the right to deny the carriage of any piece of freight. 
  • Unclaimed items will be held for 30 days. After one month, items will be either discarded or donated if applicable.
  • Items must be packaged appropriately. Harbour Air is not responsible for damage to any items that are not packaged appropriately.
  • All parcels are shipped on a standby, space available basis. 
  • Our Comox terminal opens one hour prior to all scheduled departures for freight services. Freight pick up is available within 90 minutes of all scheduled arrivals. Please visit Route & Schedules to find departure and arrival times. 
  • Freight is not accepted on international flights.
